Restore & Rise Counseling, PLLC

Abby J. Schnedler (she/her), MS, LMFT

About Me

I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience in the field. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients as they navigate their greatest joys, deepest challenges, and everything in between.

Much of my work has been rooted in community mental health, including roles in schools, non-profit mental health clinics, and within higher education settings—both at the university and graduate levels. These experiences have shaped my approach and deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care.

As a cisgender, heterosexual Black woman, I understand that while some parts of my identity come with privilege, others come with vulnerabilities. The harm caused by racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and other fear-based beliefs is still very present. Those who came before me made a path that I am humbled to follow.  I acknowledge that there is lingering stigma around the topic of mental health and therapy in many communities. While the stigma is often rooted in a history of needing to protect ourselves, it is so encouraging to see more Black and Brown people choosing therapy, disrupting harmful generational patterns of trauma, and investing in their peace, self-worth, and healthier relationships.

FAQs

  • I accept most major insurance plans. I would recommend calling your insurance company and asking about your behavioral health benefits. You could ask the following questions:

    • What is my deductible?

    • Do I have a co-pay?

    • What should I expect to pay per session?

    • Is Abby Schnedler, of Restore and Rise Counseling “in-network”?

Private pay is also an option for those who prefer not to use insurance, don’t have coverage, or whose plans do not include mental health services. The private pay rate is $125 per session.

  • If you’d like to connect, feel free to reach out through my Psychology Today profile by clicking the blue “Email Me” button to send a message or request an appointment. I also offer free 15-minute phone consultations if you have any questions or simply want to see if we’d be a good fit to work together. Consultations are also scheduled via the above link.

  • Online therapy, also known as telehealth, offers a flexible and convenient way to fit therapy into your life—no matter how busy your schedule may be. You’ll receive a secure link to a private client portal, where we’ll connect for our sessions. You can join from your computer, tablet, or phone—whatever works best for you.

  • As a relational therapist, I believe that meaningful growth and vulnerability can only happen when clients feel truly safe and supported. I approach therapy as a collaborative conversation grounded in empathy, compassion, and genuine curiosity.

Some topics are difficult to talk about—and that’s completely okay. You are in control of your story, and we’ll go at your pace. For some, therapy starts with simply acknowledging how hard it is to open up. Others are ready to dive into the deeper work right away. Wherever you are in your journey, my goal is to make sure you feel equipped with the support and tools you need. When you're ready—let’s get started!
